Mad-Jeff Robotics Wins Programming Award

Andie Enslow and Jordan McCallus participated in the 2020 FLL Robotics Competition. They came in eleventh place out of thirty-two teams! The Mad-Jeff team won the programming award. Congratulations to Mrs. Fregoe and the students who participated!

First Grade Mathematicians

First graders at Madison are working on measurement in math workshop. They have learned some important unit vocabulary including the terms longer, shorter, taller, and align. During the whole group exploration portion of the lesson, students played the game, "Stack Um' Partner," during which Peanut Butter and Jelly partners took turns building stacks of cups and compared the differences in height. This lesson encouraged concentration, laughter, and much hands-on learning!

Monthly Perfect Attendance Classroom Winner AGAIN!

When everyone is present and on time within a classroom, the classroom earns "a point". The classroom with the most points at the end of the month gain the presence of the Owl Trophy. The classroom with the most perfect attendance days in the school year are treated to a special day at the end of the year.

White Cane Awareness Day

Kiarah, a Kindergarten student at Madison, gave a candy cane to every student to make the students aware that the white cane is an important tool that gives the blind and visually impaired the independence to move safely from place to place. We appreciate Kiarah and her teachers for doing this as it is very important to spread this important word.

Whooooo's Caught Reading?

We are having a Get Caught Reading challenge at Madison Elementary. Staff and students will have their "Get Caught Reading" pictures posted in the lobby and on the Madison website. We want to know "Whoooo is reading?" outside of school.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic book fair will be coming to Madison Elementary December 9th - 12th. The Book Fair will be open to families on Family night will be Tuesday, December 10th 5-7pm.
